Vibrator rouses police suspicion

Police were called to the home of a woman in Germany last week after she reported hearing “suspicious” noises, only to find a sex toy in the drawer.

The lady called authorities after picking up the strange sounds in her flat and failing to identify them, the AFP news agency reports.

Officers promptly sent a patrol car to her flat because the noise was so loud it could be heard over the telephone.

Perhaps expecting to uncover a bomb, what they actually found caused the woman’s face to “abruptly change colour,” according to a police statement.

“Daringly, and with the occupier’s permission, one of the officers opened the drawer of a wardrobe where the noise was coming from,” it read.

“Underneath some clothes he found a very personal battery-operated object which had obviously switched itself on.”

The case is reminiscent of a recent incident in Russia which prompted police to swoop on a post office in the country.

According to Europe World News, workers reported hearing suspicious noises coming from a sealed parcel, which later turned out to be a vibrator.
