Study highlights sexual antics of UK’s top students

Not only are they some of the brightest Brits, but Cambridge University students are also among the most sexually-adventurous, the findings of a new study suggest.

Research carried out by the student newspaper Tab found that almost half of all have had two different sexual partners in the space of one week at some point of their time at the prestigious university.

What’s more, three per cent said that they’ve had at least five sexual partners in one week, while one in five are having sex on a daily basis.

Commenting, study author Abi Lewis suggested that the eye-opening findings could help Cambridge University develop a new reputation, alongside its status as one of the world’s top centres of learning.

"Cambridge is not the work-obsessed, sex starved misery pit it is sometimes portrayed to be," she said.

On a more serious note, the survey also found that around one in three students know at least one person who has picked up a sexually transmitted disease at university.

A pair of Cambridge students also made the news recently for producing an online news bulletin, which they presented in the nude.
