‘Sex and the City’ actress Cynthia Nixon marries longtime girlfriend

Congratulations to Cynthia Nixon of ‘Sex and the City’ fame for her recent marriage to education activist fiancée of three years, Christine Marinoni on Sunday 27th May!

Nixon who famous for her portrayal of  Miranda Hobbes in the hit HBO show has been waiting for gay marriage to be legalised in the state of New York before officially tying the knot. The couple have been together for 8 years, becoming engaged in 2009 at a rally supporting same-sex weddings in New York.  They have 1 year old child, Max Ellington Nixon-Marinoni who Marinoni gave birth to. The biological father is not known.

Prior to meeting, Nixon was in was in a long term relationship with photographer Danny Mozes, they have two children together.

When asked about her sexuality, Nixon once explained:

‘In terms of sexual orientation, I don’t feel I’ve changed. I’d been with men all my life and I’d never fallen in love with a woman. But when I did, it didn’t seem strange. I’m just a woman in love with another woman.’

In 2008, the actress revealed she had beaten breast cancer which was diagnosed during a routine mammogram two years earlier. She bravely went on to play a cancer patient on stage too, shaving her head for her role in Wit.

The Sex and the City girls introduced us to the rabbit vibrator in 1998 and we haven’t looked back since, brining vibrators into the mainstream and fuelling an entire market of sex toys!
