One in every three UK adults has suffered a mild injury during sex, according to a new survey by phonepiggybank.com.
It polled 1,000 people and found that a third have pulled their muscles, cricked their necks or suffered carpet burns during the act.
A quarter of these were having so much fun at the time that they didn’t notice they’d hurt themselves until the next morning.
But while a bad back or a stubbed toe may be a fair price to pay for a night of wild passion, some of those questioned had suffered more serious injuries.
Indeed, five per cent said they had been forced to take time of work because of a sex-related injury, while two per cent had broken bones during intercourse.
Some of the riskiest places to get jiggy included the stairs, the car and the shower, although a clumsy one in ten have fallen off the bed while having sex.
