Men ‘have a longer sexual life expectancy’ than women

Women may live longer than men, but when it comes to sexual life expectancies, it’s men who outlast women.

That’s the conclusion of two new American studies, which show that although people in good health can enjoy an active sex life well into their 60s and beyond, there are some gender discrepancies.

They reveal that at age 30, a man can expect to stay sexually active for another 35 years of his life. However, women aged 30 only have an average of 31 years left before they stop having sex.

Similarly, once men get to 55, they can enjoy a healthy sex life for another 15 years on average, compared to another 11 years for women of this age.

Perhaps it’s drugs like Viagra that have allowed men to enjoy longer sex lives, helping many of those suffering from erectile dysfunction to overcome their problems in the bedroom.

The studies show however, that if you want to ensure a long and active sex life as you get older, the best ways are to stay healthy and to remain in a long-term relationship.

Indeed, those in good health and those living with a spouse or partner had the longest sexual life expectancy.
