Men are not programmed for monogamy

He insists he’s being a good boy now that he’s engaged to Katy Perry, but Russell Brand still believes its unfair that he’s not allowed to sleep with other women.

In an interview with Parade magazine, the British comedian said he does not believe men are programmed for monogamy in the way that women are.

“Men don’t face the imperative of having a baby grow in their belly so the male mating strategy is based on making a lot of women pregnant or at least having sex with them,” he explained.

“The female strategy is to get one good man. That’s why marriage is not fair.”

According to the 34-year-old, monogamy chose him and not the other way around, insisting that love “made me crazy”.

“It’s a big brain trick,” he said. “It’s peculiar and insane to be monogamous, to have just one woman.”

But despite his arguments, he has promised that he will not cheat on Katy because the I Kissed a Girl singer loves him.

According to the Mirror newspaper, Katy recently revealed that her wedding to Russell will take place before the end of the year.
