Keep your number of sexual partners secret

Never reveal how many people you have slept with, a newspaper columnist has argued.

Jan Moir said that there is no escape from sex but nothing good can ever come out of telling the truth to the very loaded question ‘how many?’.

Writing in the Daily Mail, she named well-known individuals who have landed in trouble after giving a number.

One of the more famous people to do so is deputy prime minister Nick Clegg, who told Piers Morgan he had slept with “no more than 30 women”.  The columnist said that the claim makes him look a bit like a heartless Casanova and is likely to “haunt him to his grave and beyond”.

“My advice is never to answer the question in the first place,” wrote Ms Moir.  “How many people have you slept with? None of your business. More than the Queen but less than Madonna, now go away.”
