Champion swimmer urges men to take sexual health seriously

Champion swimmer Mark Foster has urged men to seek help immediately if they have any concerns about their sexual health.

The former Strictly Come Dancing contestant said men are often reluctant to talk about such problems or speak to their GP.

“If guys have a niggle, they think it will be gone in a week, a month, a year or so, but they don’t think it is serious,” he explained.

His comments come after research by the Prostate Cancer Charity revealed that men are more likely to hide health issues from their partner than women.

Mr Foster said he wants to raise awareness of prostate cancer and other sexual health issues and encourage men to be more open.

He pointed out that many men don’t know where their prostate is or what it does.

According to the Prostate Cancer Charity, over half of Brits are unable to name a symptom of the disease, even though 35,000 men are diagnosed every year in the UK.
