Make time to be sexual

I recently had an email from a chap who wanted help getting his sexual energy back. After a brief discussion it turned out that he was working 7 days a week. He was so tired when he got home from work, he had a bite to eat and fell asleep in front of the telly. He was wondering why he hadn’t felt horny for a while and what he could do to get his mojo back.

Now how one person gets their mojo back might be completely different to another. It depends on how long it’s been this way, what the precipitating factors are and more. However one thing that everyone looking to get their mojo back needs to do is to make time to do it.  It isn’t going to just magically reappear.

Anything that we want to improve takes time, commitment and a bit of effort. Whether you want to learn to sing better, lift more weights or win more video games you have to put the time in to see change or growth. The same is true of our sexuality, our connection to our sexual energy and even to our partners.

Just as relationships with people need nurturing, so does your relationship to your sexuality. The great news is that even if you ignore it, forget about or suppress it completely, it is pretty much always there waiting for you when you decide to refocus your attention on it.

For the man that contacted me looking for help, one of the suggestions I made was that he try to change his work patterns, work less days, take some much needed time off. You know the old saying, ‘All work and no play makes Johnny a dull boy’? Well that doesn’t just mean dull as in boring, but dull as in no life force running through him, his light not shining brightly, his energy zapped. I know sometimes it can feel really difficult, if not impossible, to make changes to our lifestyle, but if we want something to be different, we have to do something different. It’s so important to have time off from work to rest, relax and concentrate on other areas of our lives. If we want to feel like a sexual being, we have to have the time and energy to connect to that part of ourselves.

Even if you’re not working 7 days a week, are you aware of where your energy and time are going? If you want to expand your sexual possibilities, heal a problem with it or just enjoy it, you must make the time for it. You will be so glad you did too!
