Kim Kardashian’s sex toys: what do celebrities keep by their bed?

Image of a sign that says 'sex: do not disturb'

I confess to not knowing much about Kim Kardashian. My knowledge of pop culture could be written in the margins of a single page of Heat Magazine, and there’d still be enough room left for a shopping list. But strangely, although I know very little about the rest of her life, I do know the kind of sex toys Kim K favours. Which is lucky, because the magic elves in the SexToys.co.uk office reliably inform me that one of the most frequently Googled questions about sex toys relates to Kim Kardashian.

Why? Well, a couple of years ago Kim K released a wishlist on her website for Valentine’s Day, listing the kinds of sex toys she’d like to receive.

Kim Kardashian’s sex toys

So what was on her list? If you want to get that Kim Kardashian sex toy vibe in your own bedroom, can you do it on a non-millionaire budget? The good news is that you absolutely can! While some of the things on her list would probably make even the richest of our blog readers run a mile ($10,000 dollar bottles of champagne, anyone?) there are a couple of products she suggested which are not only affordable, they’re also available right here on the site.

Fifty Shades of Grey Sweet Sting riding crop: I’m as surprised as you are that one of Kim’s choices costs less than £25, but this is an especially pretty riding crop. Sturdy, swishy and with a nice silver tip for a bit of extra glamour.

Candy G-string: Apparently Kim Kardashian has a thing for g-strings, and frankly if I had her amazing bum I’d probably feel the same way. If you like them too, this candy g-string is a cheeky addition to a playful night in.

Other items on her wishlist included couples cock rings, vibrators and blindfolds. Though we don’t stock the exact items here on site, if you click those category links you’ll find plenty to browse through and choose from.

Rihanna’s sex toys

If there’s one thing I know about Rihanna (and again I must stress that I know almost nothing about Rihanna) it’s that she’s got serious style. If you want to copy her style, apparently the toys she picked out when she nipped into a sex shop in Paris included leather handcuffs, so why not treat yourself to a pair of these Bound Nubuck leather cuffs?

Lily Allen’s sex toys

We know Lily Allen has been very outspoken about the benefits of masturbation in the press (hooray!) but what sex toys does she use? Well, during her takeover of Stylist Magazine, Lily put a few different sex toys through their paces to see which ones she liked best. The winner?

Lelo Sona Cruise (or the updated Lelo Sona 2): a unique clitoral vibrator which uses gentle sonic waves to stimulate the clitoris more thoroughly than a standard vibe. Lily’s take on it?

“I really like the shape – it’s pleasingly ergonomic – and has a good number of rhythms and strengths.”

What about the men?

One of the things I find most striking about working in the sex industry is how much work there still is to do when it comes to encouraging more open discussion of sex toys for men. In researching this blog post (yes, Googling ‘Kim Kardashian sex toys’ technically counts as research – that’s my story and I’m sticking to it) I grew increasingly keen to find examples of celebrity dudes speaking out about sex toy use. I found some fabulous stories about Jada Pinkett-Smith and Will Smith using sex toys in their bedroom – those two are the very definition of #CoupleGoals – but it was really hard to find any celebrity men talking openly and frankly about using cock rings, for instance, or masturbators.

So my plea to any men who might be reading this – if you’re able to start shouting about the sex toys you love, you’d be doing the world a huge favour. Sex toys aren’t just for women, anyone of any gender can enjoy a bit of extra stimulation in the bedroom. I know it can be hard to talk about your sex life, many people get embarrassed or shy, and you may experience judgment from others. But if you feel comfortable recommending your favourite sex toys to friends, you’ll be making a huge step in moving the conversation forward, and perhaps one day celebrities will be endorsing your favourite masturbation sheaths and butt plugs the way the women mentioned above have helped boost sales of riding crops, candy g-strings and handcuffs.

Meanwhile, keep browsing and buying things you love, safe in the knowledge that you don’t need to be as rich as Kim Kardashian to treat yourself to better orgasms.
