How to have the best single Valentine’s Day

Today’s guest blogger is HornyGeekGirl, and she’s got some amazing Valentine’s Day film, book, and sex toy recommendations. The best news? You don’t have to share them with anyone but yourself…

I make no apologies for the fact that I really don’t like Valentine’s Day. Whether I am single or in a relationship I still dislike it. The sheer volume of social (an societal) pressure we get to display affection by way of gifts on one particular day is appalling. When I’m in a relationship I’d rather show someone I love them in countless little ways throughout the year, rather than in one big way on Valentine’s day because I feel I have to. When I am single all the fuss and build-up just makes me feel terrible, and even worse is the rush of last minute texts from guys who want to get together because they don’t have a date but really want to get laid. Makes me feel like I’m not worth it. It’s enough to drive a girl crazy.

This year I decided I am going to have a date with myself. I am going to celebrate being single because being single means I don’t have some whiney person to buy for, I don’t have to queue for hours to buy the latest video game in the hopes it is the right one. With the time and money I am saving by being single this Valentine’s Day I can treat myself.

First up on my list is the Doxy Body Massager . I know they say diamonds are a girls’ best friend but whoever said that clearly didn’t own a Doxy. This ‘massager’ has a deep rumbly vibration, with variable speed settings. Not only is it great for orgasms but it is perfect on all those niggly aches and pains we often get from day to day life. It’s not particularly discreet but by the third orgasm you really won’t care.

Also excellent is the Doxy Massager’s smaller cuter sibling, the Doxy Skittle, a fabulous and versatile vibrator. Can be used externally, internally, and anally. Only thing limiting you with this one is your imagination. Comes with a 4 metre cord, and you will not believe how rumbly and deep these vibrations are.

If you’d like something a bit more discreet and portable you can’t go far wrong with the LELO Mia 2, this cute little ‘lipstick’ vibrator is USB rechargeable, 100% waterproof, and has 6 different vibration patterns. It’s not immediately obvious what it is either, so if you wanted to pop it in your bag for a little outside play, you totally could.

If you’re not a big fan of vibrations you can always try something like the Tantus Silk Medium, a lovely silicone dildo, with a slight curve and lovely smooth shaft. This isn’t a toy that is going to stretch you but it will slide in easily, and the curve means it is perfect to ‘rock’ against your g-spot. It also has a lovely flat base so it can be ‘stuck’ to a table, desk, floor and mounted.

Plan yourself a night in;

  • a lovely bubble bath – I’m a fan of Bomb Cosmetics, their products smell amazing and they scent the water really well, so you can smell them on your skin afterwards.
  • A sexy film – The Secretary is good; very sexy James Spader and super-hot Maggie Gyllenhaal, with a BDSM bent. *wiggles* Or whatever film does it for you; I’m a fan of Captain America: The Winter Soldier because Chris Evans makes my knickers wet in the best possible way.
  • Then early to bed with your new best friend (vibrator)…..
  • And a good book – I highly recommend Chemical Sex or Best Women’s Erotica of the Year, Vol. 1. Both are great collections of sexy stories, that have something to appeal to everyone.

So, join me in celebrating being single and spoil yourself this Valentine’s Day because believe me YOU ARE WORTH IT.
