The Asylum Hook Claw Mouth Spreader is the latest point in my search for something that holds the mouth open and also leaves enough room for a cock (because, let's face it, that's the main reason you want an open mouth, isn't it?) This is a scary-looking toy, which lends itself to a bit of roleplay, but might put off somebody inexperienced. However, once it's in place, it does what it's supposed to do. The hooks are shiny and well made, with no edges that might catch, and the nylon strap is securely sewn and well finished; this toy is not going to fall apart on you. Getting the hooks in place is a little tricky, as you need to avoid getting them between the teeth, and if you've got a small mouth that could be almost impossible. Once they're in place they're actually not horribly uncomfortable, as long as you don't try to close your mouth, and as long as the strap is pulled as tight as possible. This is another reason I'd say this is something for people who've been playing with mouth toys for a while. If the strap isn't really, really tight the hooks will slip and come out quite easily. To tighten the strap there is a single sliding buckle, which can lead to one side of the mouth getting pulled more than the other (two adjusters would possibly have been better) and you then end up with an uneven pull on the lips. Unfortunately, the adjuster slides a little too easily, and can slip a little once you've adjusted it, which means the strap ends up slightly looser than you aimed for. I wouldn't want to be wearing this spreader for long, even when it's adjusted properly, but it does a wonderful job of making sure you can't close your mouth, and could make for some fun photos.
A great plug from a great company. The Tantus B Bomb is the closest thing to my perfect butt plug I've yet tried. The shape means it slides in fairly easily (though the 'neck' area is a bit floppy without a bullet in place), and once it's in it doesn't feel like it's about to make a break for freedom. This is the first time I've had a plug I've felt confident walking around with, although it did escape when I got a little bit energetic :-) The size is enough to make sure you know it's there, without feeling like you're being split in half, which means it's probably also a pretty good choice for somebody who's not had a lot of experience with anal play. The Tantus bullet has enough power that you *really* know when it's turned on; I was immediately going weak at the knees. I don't think I was in danger of getting an orgasm just from the vibrations, but I was having way too much fun to wait to find out. The only problems I found (apart from a runaway plug when rolling about) was that the bullet sticks out far enough that sitting down is a little tricky, and getting the bullet out afterwards so I could clean the plug was a bit of a pain, as the plug appeared to have vacuum-sealed itself to the bullet. At least the Tantus silicone means cleaning the plug is an absolute doddle. I think I'll give this one a 9/10
A high quality plug for everybody. I've seen Tantus toys with the tag-line "made to be played with", and wondered if this means that other companies are just making them to be looked at. Well, when they feel like the Faerie, they're going to get played with. A nice, smooth, purple toy designed to hit the G-spot or the P-spot, slightly tapered, but not too big, it seems to do the job well. It's a while since I've had anything up my rear, so getting started was a little tricky (more lube, Igor), but once the tip had worked its way past the entrance, the toy slipped in fairly easily. This was not necessarily a bad thing ;-) Once I'd got it in place, and had settled myself down, the only real reminder of its presence was the stretching at the entrance. I couldn't really feel much inside, if I sat still, but moving gave some very nice sensations, and sliding a bullet under me to rest against the base of the toy had me grabbing the stool I was sitting on as the Faerie carried the vibrations right up to where they needed to be. A short erotic story later (OK, so porn often crops up when I'm on my own), and a little stimulation of my cock, and I can feel the pressure building. Now, this wasn't what I'd call a typical orgasm. No spurts of cum, just a sudden flow, while my brain exploded. Coming back down to earth took a while, even once I'd got up and made my shaky way to the bathroom to remove the dildo (which was very easy), wash it, then clamber into the shower to clean myself up. The only real problem I had was the one I always have with anal toys, the darn things never stay put, but I wonder whether having this one stay put, via harness or whatever, while trying to do other things would actually work, as I'm sure I'd be too distracted to actually do anything. A soft leather collar that does the business pretty well. Now, I've got a few collars for play, and one special one, but I'm always interested in new restraints, so being chosen to review the Spartacus Black and Blue collar was a nice change of pace. The collar has a nice soft feel, with sturdy construction, the rivets are firm, and the rings at the front don't feel like they're in any danger of coming off if they get a bit of a tug from being led around :-) It's made from 3 pieces of leather, a black main piece to which is rivetted a thinner piece which holds the D ring with attached O ring at the front, and the buckle at the back. These are both black. Acting as combined lining and edging is a piece of blue leather which is machine stitched in place. I was nicely suprised to find that you can't feel the stitches when wearing it, so that's one possible source of irritation removed. As the collar is 2 inches wide, I really appreciated the nice soft edges given by the 3rd piece of leather, as 2 inches is getting close to posture collar size for my neck. Because of this, there's a limitation on how much head movement I get when wearing it, but this isn't a bad thing. The collar appears to be adjustable from about 13.5 to 18 inches, due to the number of holes in place for the buckle. However, the main piece and blue covering are both over 18 inches long which means that there is always an inch or so of overlap, and at the smaller sizes the overlap is over-large. Because of this, and the positioning of the rivets holding the thinner strap to the main collar, you can't get to the last few holes, so minimum size is going to be about 14.5 inches. The overlap also gets to be a bit uncomfortable after 40 minutes or so, and I found it getting to be too uncomfortable after about 50 minutes. The only other construction niggle is that the thin strap doesn't fit flush to the rest of the collar on one side, but as a mass-produced item, it's definitely well put together. If you're looking for a first collar to try out a bit of kinky play, you could do a lot worse than this one, particularly if you're a couple wanting to try both sides of things, so wanting a collar that's got a good chance of fitting you both. Think I'll give this a 8/10
A set of anal toys to get you started. I should probably start by saying I'm not quite a beginner to anal play, but I am a bit out of practice, so it's almost like starting over. The kit contains 3 different sizes of buttplug, one vibrator that's about the same width as the wide part of the largest plug, and a small bottle of Doc Johnson's lube. The lube looks a lot like wallpaper paste, but it stays nicely on the toy, and the smallest plug slid home very easily. The smallest plug is about the width of a finger, which means that it's not causing much of a stretch, which has to be a good thing for somebody's first time. Unfortunately the review kit was missing the medium plug, but it appears to be about half again the width of the small one, making it the same size as another plug I've got, which has spent quite a while comfortably in place. The large plug, at its widest, is noticably bigger, but still only about the size of a small to medium cock, so even this one is unlikely to scare anybody off. The vibrator is about the same width, but doesn't have quite the same gentle taper, so you're going to be feeling it for most of its length (I think, check part 2 of the review later) All the toys are firm, but with a nice amount of give, and have good length necks and decent size bases, which is important with anal play, as you don't want to be worrying about things accidentally going too far in. In fact, with the small plug, once it's in you'll probably feel the base between your cheeks more than you feel stretched by the plug. One of the main problems I have with buttplugs is that as soon as I let go it feels like the plug is trying to make a break for freedom. I didn't get that problem this time, and the small plug was happy to stay where I'd put it while I was doing some chores (it's one way of making work in the kitchen more interesting). Whether this is down to the lube, or the length of the neck on the plug, I don't know; but whichever it is, I'm giving extra marks for not feeling like the plug is about to shoot across the room. Standing at the sink, I could almost forget the plug was there, until I moved slightly, at which point it reminded me in a nice gentle fashion. Stuff me! Literally, in fact. It's definitely a bit of a step from the small plug to the large, and you need to remember that with anal play there's no such thing as too much lube. You're definitely going to feel a bit stretched and full the first time you try the big plug, but once you settle down to it, it's an amazing feeling, and it does get you ready for the vibrator. The vibe is a single speed job, and that speed is enough to get just about everything below the waist shaking pretty quickly. This might be a beginners kit, but the large plug and the vibe should keep you going for quite a while, and even the small plug is going to be fun to come back to for longer wear. There is one slight problem I can see with the kit, and that's that the small bottle of lube they include isn't going to last very long; if you find you've got more than a passing interest in anal play you're going to need some more pretty quickly. As a final note, the lube is water-based and condom-safe, so you can just bag-up the toys before insertion and cleaning them after becomes easier.
I'm very much into being restrained, and these look like a classy way to be gently bound; who could resist silk and suede cuffs? As with all the Lelo toys, they arrive in a nice little box that looks like it should be holding jewellery, and the quality of the cuffs matches that up-market feeling. The advertising image really doesn't do the purple cuffs justice, they are a much more vibrant colour than the picture shows. The cuffs are well made, with all the seams nicely stitched, and look like they'll last for a while. One side is wonderfully soft suede, which is begging to be stroked, and the other is soft jacquard silk, which looks amazingly pretty. This is actually where I think Lelo have got things wrong, as they've put the suede on the outside, and the silk on the inside, and because of the way the ribbons are threaded and the suede being a larger curve than the silk, you really can't use the cuffs the other way round. It seems a real shame to hide the pattern of the silk. The ribbons themselves are thick silk, and hold a knot well while being easy enough to untie, and should take a fair amount of use. Depending on how you're planning to use these cuffs (say to be tied to a bed), they may be a little short, but too much longer and they'd be difficult to use to just bind the wrists together. I was a bit concerned that having the silk as the inside of the cuffs could lead to some irritation as it can slide over skin while the suede wouldn't, but this seems to have been unfounded, possibly due to how soft the silk is. The only other thing you might need to watch is if you've got really thin wrists you might hit a point where you can't overlap the cuffs enough; the cuffs are about 18.5 cm long, and will probably overlap about 2.5 cm. Overall, these are a very nice, classy way to play with some gentle bondage, but I think they would both feel better and look amazing if the silk was on the outside and the suede on the inside. 7.5/10
