Keep a tidy Toy Box

For those of us who have gradually built up a fine arsenal of sex toys it eventually gets to a point where keeping them in the top drawer of your nightstand is just impossible! Aside from proudly displaying them all over the house like space-age ornaments it is possible to organise your pleasure, in turn making sure you get the longest life-span out your toys. The best way to do this is to set aside a box, or more lovingly named by collectors as a “toy box”. Aside from chucking everything in there straight after use (a massive no no!) there are still important things to consider when packing your buddies off to bed:
Remove batteries – Try and remember to remove the batteries when you’re done using any of your battery operated toys so that they can’t leak, run down, or otherwise corrupt the toy; both the batteries and the toy itself will last longer if you do!
Keep Dry – Be sure your toys are completely dry before storing them to discourage mould and mildew.
Separate your toys – Keep each item separate as some materials are not compatible with each other and can cause melting or discoloration. If vibrating bullets and eggs are removable, store them separately from their respective toys as well. A lot of people chose to use separate zip-lock bags as these are convenient, cheap and hygienic. Another quirky way to keep them separate is to tuck them into the pockets of a hanging shoe organiser! This takes up less space, allows for quick-selection of toys and keeps them in order with their corresponding parts/accessories. Brilliant!
Keep out of direct sunlight – Direct sunlight and excess heat may cause toys to melt, discolour, or dry out, so try to make sure wherever your toys are that they are in a cool, dark place. Extreme cold can also do damage to toys not made of acrylic, glass, or silicone, and only if those are not battery-operated, so never refrigerate or freeze soft materials unless the manufacturer specifies that you can; like our chilly Ice Massagers.
Clean up – Always clean your sex toys before putting them away in storage and when taking them out for use. We stock our own Loving Joy sex toy cleaner which leaves toys sparkling clean with antibacterial properties.

“I don’t know the material my sex toy is made of-how do I clean it?”
If you no longer have the toy packaging, you may not be sure what material your toy is made of; use warm water and a mild soap on a washcloth and let the product air dry.
“If my vibrator is waterproof, can I wash it in the dishwasher?”
Only silicone dildos that do not require batteries can be washed in the dishwasher or boiled. Do not submerge any sex toy that takes batteries, and never submerge electrical toys.
“I have ultrasensitive skin, so I can’t use antibacterial soaps or toy cleaners-what should I do to clean my toys?”
It would be best for you to only use silicone-based toys (they’re hypoallergenic); if it does not use batteries, it can be boiled in hot water for cleaning and sterilizing, so no soap is necessary.
“I only have one sex partner, my husband. Why would we need to use condoms with our sex toys?”
Rubber, latex, jelly, and realistic materials are porous and harder to clean thoroughly, so using a condom will extend the life of the product. Plus, a condom will keep you both safe from bacteria if the toy is shared between you or switches orifices. An added bonus is if you use a lubricated condom, no additional lube is necessary!

A recent American study called ‘Sex Toys & The Modern Bachelorette Party’ has found that sex toys for couples are increasingly becoming the preferred gift for the modern hen night.
Whereas fifty years ago the concept of such a risqué party was not only highly taboo but also virtually unheard of, brides today consider their hen night as much a part of wedding preparations as tasting cakes, inspecting venues and endless dress fittings. Naturally the maid-of-honour will need to find a way to make this a night one to remember (or not as the case may be!), an adult-themed party is proving to be a popular alternative to ‘going out on the lash’.
To properly prepare an adult themed hen party, complete with a few imaginative sex toys for women, you need to first consider the audience in attendance.
