Jelly Willies

We just can't get enough of these willies!

I had been curious about jelly willies for quite a while before finally deciding to treat myself to some(or should I say my partner treating me to some) I had read some fantastic reviews and been tempted by the colourful packaging with it's cheerful smiling cartoon willies.

In person the box of jelly willies is as bright and cheery as pictured on site and features several amusing cartoon willies smiling and sticking out their tongues.

Inside the box is 150 grams of different coloured jellies including red, orange, yellow and green. Listed on the box as being fruity flavoured, I could make out four flavours, strawberry, orange, lemon and apple.

The ingredients as listed on the packaging are: Glucose syrup, Sugar, Gelling Agent: Gelatine, Acidifier: Citric Acid, Flavourings, Colours (E100, E120 E141), Glazing Agent: Vegetable Oil with Carnauba Wax.

As with a lot of types of jellies these are not suitable for vegetarians. And if you are concerned about calories, these are listed as containing 336 kcal per 100 grams, We personally found that the 150 gram box provided us with 6 servings.

When the plastic bag within the box is initially opened the smell of the jellies is pleasant and fruity and not as artificial as most jellies. Taste wise these are delicious. Seriously, its no exaggeration to say these are the best jellies myself or my partner have ever tasted. There is a real fruit like taste to these, and similar to the smell of them it is not too artificial. The taste is strong but not to sugary. The strawberry and orange were my personal favourites because of their sweet fruity flavour but the lemon and apple were both pleasant too while not being too bitter (considering these can sometimes be bitter flavours). As easy as it is to find yourself scoffing your way through the bag of these, we found that they are surprising filling!

Overall myself and my partner were very satisfied with these. I had spent so long not buying these because of the price but now that I've tried them I feel that the the box is actually quite a decent size for the price and it is such high quality of sweets that you get, these might be intended as a novelty gift but they really are fantastic quality jellies.

Pros: Bright and humorous packaging, fun for couples and they taste great!
