Sex & Mischief Bed Bondage Restraint Kit

As someone who has a set of restraints permanently attached to her bed I was very interested to see how this set would compare.

I was very pleased when my package arrived in the post. Many bondage/sex toy 'kits' are quite tacky in both quality and presentation. While not precisely a luxury item, this is a vast improvement on similar kits I have seen before. Nicely presented in a monochrome box, it looks very modern and artistic, and not at all tacky. You could get away with this as a gift to the right kind of person, if you dare!

The contents also give a favourable first impression. The kit comes as one piece; four cuffs for ankles and wrists, secured by velcro, attached to a strap which you place under the mattress. Each strap is adjustable in length allowing you some room for adjustment to fit how you like. It fits perfectly on my double bed.

The straps are about an inch wide and very strong. The thickness also helps to avoid it becoming tangled during storage - any knots wont tighten so it's quick to smooth out and fit to the bed.

The cuffs themselves are very comfortable. They are so soft, and do not chaff against you skin. Velcro can only do so much however, obviously these are not aimed at serious bondage enthusiasts as much as they are beginners. If you are looking for heavy duty restraints these probably are not for you - the cuffs cannot be detached to fit your own, which is a shame as this would create more versatility. The fitted cuffs are however perfectly adequate for casual play.

One issue I have found is that once on, you can still easily move the cuffs up and down the sides of the mattress. Again, it really depends on how you want to use them as to whether this is a problem for you.. If you are using the set on a wooden or metal bed with slats there is a way around it. When placing under the mattress you can hook the end of each strap through a slat before putting the mattress back. On a divan however I think you just have to live with it.

The biggest positive of these - and the reason I am keeping my set - is portability. They are small and lightweight when folded and need no permanent fixing to the bed. Perfect for use in hotels, or if you are in a shared house and do not want permanent restraints fixed to the bed where prying eyes might see.

Overall, this set is great value - good quality and flexible. It is not scary for anyone new to bondage play yet adaptable enough to have place in a regular players toy box. While I personally prefer my fixed straps (mostly as I can interchange cuffs/spreaders and so on) this set will certainly get used by us. I'm already wondering how well it would fit the dining table.
