LELO Gigi

I remember the day I got this toy. It was over three years ago and even back then I had a lot of toys under my belt. I had high expectations of this toy, mainly because of the price, but also because I had read good reviews for it, and I hoped that people hadn't lead me wrong. I should never have worried.

From the first time I took it out of its box, I could see and feel the quality that I now know comes with every Lelo product. It came well presented in a seed-free black box. The feel of its silicone was velvety soft. I knew I was falling for this toy bad.

After leaving it on charge for what felt like forever (just for the first charge, it now charges within an hour every time), I was ready to see what Gigi could do, and it didn't disappoint! I found myself impressed with its multiple vibration speeds and pulse modes(all much quieter than most toys I had tried before).

Three years on my love affair with Gigi is still going strong. Yes, I have dozens of other toys to choose from, but when I want reliable strong vibrations that will get the job done without any of the hassle with batteries, or fear of diminishing power at that all important moment, this is the toy I reach for.

The one flaw I have found with the Gigi is that, because it keeps good power up until the moment it completely loses charge, there is no indication of how close it is to losing charge until one second before it stops when a red light on its controls flashes. It would be be nice if the Gigi could show that red flash earlier, giving you more notice of whats to come. I had my own solution to this problem. I bought Gigi a sister, the Lelo Mona, which I keep on standby to take over in such emergencies.

Okay, I admit it, I have by now accumulated a LOT of toys including a number of vibrators but if someone put a gun to my head and asked me to pick just one vibe to keep I would, without hesitation, pick this one.

I've had it quite a while now but it was a present from my other half - birthday or christmas I think. It arrived swiftly as with all my ST orders, discreetly which was a boon in shared accommodation. The vibrator itself was beautifully packaged, in a strong card box, well presented and moulded holder with a soft pearly carry bag and charger.

It is sleek and elegant, and though it is hard silicone I was surprised at how 'soft' the shaft feels and how smooth, the one aesthetic flaw which I would expect to be without in a high-end product is the 'seam' in the handle. Such a basic thing, please Lelo fix it in future models? Still this is a minor consideration.

The vibrations initially are almost imperceptible (lowest settings) but there are a huge variety and most are most definitely noticeable! I forget how many functions it has (must go and check again ;) ) however there is one control pad about the size of my thumb pad, points of the compass controlling stronger/ weaker, next function/ last function. Think texting. Very simple and efficient, I appreciate efficiency in general.

The shaft will appear initially as small, it would be well suited for the smaller lass. Don't dismiss it on size though, it is far better than some of my more substantial toys and almost silent at that, though there is a high pitched hum which most don't notice but if your hearing is sensitive may bother you after a longer session. It is feminine, utterly unthreatening so if a partner may be threatened by a nine" realistic cock vibe this would be a gentle introduction into the world of toys without compromising on quality or effectiveness. I found it very well shaped, however a little lube may be useful if wishing to insert the sort of bulb shown at the end, I personally appreciate this feature (which is more of an oval than a circle which isn't shown well in the picture)

It has a gentle curve and is fantastic as a clit vibe requiring minimal effort and control, and is easy to use with a partner without being in the way.

It doesn't arrive with charge, which is slightly irritating as you immediately want to go and try it out, and the circle around the control pad flashes white when charging. It *does* hold charge surprisingly well which may have the side effect of forgetting to charge it! No raking out for or expenditure on batteries which is brilliant, takes falls well (though you won't want to drop it frequently). Easy storage and definitely my vibrator of choice.

It is true that you can find good quality cheap vibes and sometimes hit the jackpot so to speak, but really there is an element of getting what you pay for and with Lelo you really do.

Incidentally my husband has nicked this on occasion and appreciates it for use on both of us. It has sustained absolutely no damage despite frequent use for a good while now, and a couple of house moves.

All in all well worth it, if I had any criticisms they would be the light flashing while charging but this does ensure you know the socket is switched on so is at least practical, the lack of charge when it arrives and the seam. Other than that it really is almost faultless.

Feels wonderful in use and out, subtle, well designed. Well done Lelo!

The seam, ease with which I lose my charger, occasionally has died at inopportune moments.

Fantastic. Brilliant toy, lasts well, good design. Smooth and satin soft.

Any sex toy that comes in handy, easy to use and is made of high quality material never fails to induce pleasure. Of course, durability should also be considered when purchasing a product of your choice.
